Shepard Fairey, born February 15, 1970 is an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer activist and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding scene. He became widely known in 2008 during the presidential election; for his Barak Obama "hope" poster. he attended rhode island school of design and has always pursued a career in art, his work varies between many mediums including but not limited to screen prints, stencils, stickers, rubylith illustrations, collages, and works on wood, metal and canvas. he always seemed to have a calling in posters; in his early life he was putting poster like images on skateboards and he is most commonly known for his Andre the giant poster and his barack obama “hope” poster.
